Can i update GT5 for Kmeaw CFW?

I have a backup copy of GT5 with no game update installed. I have read that after a specific size of the game save it becomes corrupt because of which a game update was released... I wanna ask that can i update and the backup will still work flawlessly or because of the game update it wont work. Please help.

I am on kmeaw 3.55 if that matters. Also because of being on kmeaw i use original EBOOT... not a modified one... thanks in advance...

the game update fixed the save error, so it would be best to apply the update and that should fix any error you may get.
