Mercenaries (PAL)

Hello.
I need help with the Game. I use Swap Magic 3.6 and the Game freeze during it load. I trial to use CogSwapLoader, but it freeze to. Can somebody help me ?

Your swapmagic disc is only 4.35GB and Mercs are 4.37Gb so it wont boot well (if at all).

U need to do a TOC swap with a real ps2 game that has a TOC of 4.37GB.

Look at the first sticky of this forum to find a game u have that is 4.37GB.

Then do this:
1. boot swapmagic dvd or cd (v3.3 or v3.6)
2. press eject (tray opens)
3. insert your REAL 4.37GB ps2 game (like Devil May Cry 1 or 2)
4. press eject (tray closes and disc spins down)
5. swap in your mercs-backup
6. press x

Does the real ps2 game have to be exactly 4.37 GB or can it be more?

Oh, and I'm using SM DVD version 2.0 . . .

I have MGS 2 Substance, functioned it?

Yes it can be more, but I havent seen a single layer ps2 game above 4.37. (there is a few double layer games but I dont think they'll work as toc discs)

If u have SM CD 3.0 u can do the above.

If u only have SM DVD 2.0 u need to swap with cog/dvd-loader:
1. boot swapmagic dvd 2.0
2. swap in dvd-loader (or DVD-Cogswap-loader)
3. press x
4. press eject
5. insert your real 4.37GB game
6. press eject
7. press x (it spins down and screen says "EA swap")
8. swap in your backup-dvd+-r
9. press x

There used to be a tutorial on this site how to rebuild the game as well. It was fairly easy to do, but you did need a few progams. It brings the game size way down, and boots with SM 3.3 no problem. I am sure one of the more experienced guys will post the rebuild method.

I found the method for rebuilding the game - it was written for Star Wars Battle Front - but works if you follow it through changing file names etc. Hope this helps - worked no problem for me.
