Yeah, I don't think it works like that. Any USB interface splits its available bandwidth between all devices connected. You can't just plug in a second USB cable to the PS2 and suddenly have 24 Mbit/s instead of 12 Mbit/s. Even if that theory did work, the PS2 would need one hell of a lot more USB ports to get USB 2.0's 480 Mbit/s.
