Admin posted a review of it some time in the last few days, but I suppose that post is gone now. It's supposed to work pretty well, with load times similar to reading off the actual game disc. I have an old V4 with HDA, so I'm probably not going ot get it, but a friend of mine just got the new slim v12 and will probably pick it up soon. I'll post when he does.
And hey, nice redesign Admin, et al. Thumbs up.

EA Games on USBExtreme...
Well, I've been using USB Extreme lately in my PSTwo, many games work fine apart from the chopy FMV sequences.
Anyway, I'm having problems trying to run most of the EA games in the market, specially the new hits like Timesplitters 3 or Burnout3, what happens is that when I load the game it looks like it's gonna work, the HD seems to load the game and the analog red light on the controllers turns On but then the screen just goes black and nothing happens... so, my question is: is any1 else having such problems with EA games? I've heard about dualcheck... could this be the problem? if so, is there any patch/way to make them work?

USB Extreme help needed
Help I have USB Extreme, and a Western Digital 80Gig USB Hard drive, I have followed the instructions exactly (or so I think) but my V12 PSTWO fails to recognize the USB device at all. Could someone please list the steps that they went through to get it to recogize their device, or does it not support WD HDD's. I have win XP Profesional with SP2 installed and this is driving me crazy.
Thanks in advance,
Loupgarrou

Dont worry about this too much as it's only normal as the usb is streaming the movie clips. But I too have the problems you describe above. I have had no luck in getting any of my backups to work. Now I know it will work on only 95% of backups but I seem to have all the 5% of games that dont work. I have tried Timesplitters future perfect, God of war, Champions: Return to Arms and Project Snowblind. I still a few more to try so will let you know what works, if any. Also Can you get the mode options to work because I can not get the mode option screen?

Mine arrived today and have been playing with it. Never used HDA as I have a V12 so can't compare......
I don't think it supports "modes", well I can't find them
So far I have 15 games working, and 8 not working - working out to 65%, not really very good at all.....
Although The Urbz works, which I didn't think worked on HDA.....
Yes streaming in some games is very poor, but on the whole load times aren't too bad.
And why does the USBeXtreme disk keep spinning like mad? As soon as the game starts to load I usually pop the cover open to stop it and it doesn't seem to affect anything.
Loupgarrou no idea - mine just plugged in and worked - although ocasionally when resetting it won't pick up the USB disc - I have to cycle power to it then it picks it up. As it uses the USB interface I should imagine it would work with anything, although I suppose you could say that about IDE lol
edit: update games working/not

USB Extreme
Well, I can definately tell everyone that The problem I was having was with the Western Digital HD(USB) I went out, got a 120gig maxtor drive, a USB enclosure, put it all together and whadduknow, it works fine, some choppy video on Tekken 5, but excellent gameplay. On a side note, I think a List of what games work and which ones don't work with USB Extreme would be very helpful, whatta U guys think?

I think this is great idea as we seem to be the only few who actualy own the usb extreme? I have Tekken 5 so I will see If I can get it to work as I'm still having problems but I seem to be messing with newer games. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory started working but locked up when you try to start the game. Has any one be able to change the modes yet?
*thanks for Tekken5 tip----it worked a treat.
