Strange HD behavior....PLZ help! - PS3 NEWS

Something is really strange with my HD, hopefully someone here can help. I have a V10 PS2 w/DMS3 which was working fine, games loaded on the HD ran flawlessly...no problems. Now for some reason when I boot up HDA via my mem card it boots up, like normal, shows all my games but now none of them work, when I hit x to launch one the screen just goes black and you can see there is no HD activity. Now the really strange part, when I boot the system up normally, if I select Browser to view the contents of the HD/Mem card, I can't even get to it. I just get a black screen. If I disconnect the HD the browser will load and I can go into my mem card just fine. Any ideas what the hell could be causing this strange behavior? As I said before EVERYTHING worked fine last time I used it a few weeks ago, now it's acting all stupid.

have you tested the network adapter lately? maybe it shorted or something

It has nothing to do with the network adaptor, as I said everything functions, I can get into HDA, I just can't actually RUN any of the games or get into the browser with the HD connected. I can get into the browser just fine with the NA connected as long as I take the HD off.

a friend of mine had a similar prob with his ps2 v5 and a dms4 pro the only thing he did was reflash the modchip firmware and reinstall the atad drivers for the automatic atad patch don't know if this will fix your prob but it's worth to try (the only thing my friend can't do was go to the hd from the browser hda games were working fine before he reflash the mod) is working at full now

But was he able to get into the browser screen before he "fixed" it? Mine just goes to a black screen when I try to load it.

yes after he flash he modchip everthing was back to normal hope that fix yours

Just so you know before you post possible solutions, please be aware that there is NOTHING wrong with the console itself, the network adaptor, the chip, the chip bios or the memory card, because a different drive I tried worked perfectly. The problem is strickly the HD itself, I just can't figure out what is causing it. Any other ideas?

Try to test the hdd in your computer, mybe the hdd is dead.

it happens to me too...

the BADATA folder on MC was corrupted, delete the BADATA folder, ps2 will create another one even if u don't use the exploit, if that does not work yet, delete your DEV1 folder "BOOT" and install again, that should work now.
