PS2 (fat) with HDD n00b help

Hello all.

100% ps2 n00b here.

i was given a ps2 the other day and i was looking for mods as you do and i noticed the HDD mod for the PS2 but after browsing and browsing the forum i came to no avail as well as stated n00b and dont know where to start.

as stated its a fat ps2 and i have a IDE 200GB hdd laying around which is my selected drive its a seagate by the way.

i plan to use games i own already so nothing naughty. and if it does support maybe GBA/GB/GBC/N64 emulation as im a retro head.

i look forward to the useful replies.

Hello,

first you need a modchip/swap for install in one disc the exploit called Freemcboot with the uLaunchElf and HdLoader to your memory card, or a friend who can help you, when the Freemcboot was installed you don't need nevermore chip or swap, but is needed for the first install.

Also you need buy the Network Adapter.

When you have this programs installed in the MC, take the HD and connect it to the Network Adapter, fit the jumper in the Master position and format the HD with the HdLoader program.

Take off the HD from your Ps2 and connect it to your computer with an usb case, or directly to one free IDE connection of your pc.

Transfer the games to your HD using the program HDL Dump Helper GUI v2, this program can also transfer the games connected with network, whithout need open the Ps2.

When you have finished off install the games run again the HdLoader in the Ps2, choose a game and enjoy.

From the emulators of which you say, exist for GB and GBA, but not for the others.

Best regards.

As the other dude said if you want emulators fmcb is the way to go. To install it on ur ps3 all you need is a memory card (ps2 only). (preferably blank). AR MAX EVO (ps2) or non evo edition (ps2), a computer (obviously) and a memory stick that works with AR MAX (You normaly get one with AR MAX evo edition ps2).

Need any help I'll see what I can do :P
