little help with setting up exploit

ok what i want to do is load my memory card up with alot of the programs here, but i'm having a little trouble getting going.

my 1st question would be, what should be the 1st program i load on to my memory card?

the exploit or ExecFTPs or some kind of boot menu?

the problem i am having with the getting the exploit to work is after i do everything i load the ps1 game and it just loads the game and instead of booting the exploit?

are there some ps1 games this doesn't work with? i'm using resident evil 2 d-cut

kinda of a loaded question, but any direction on this would be great.

I'd recommend loading the actual exploit (the modified TITLE.DB and whatever BOOT.ELF you choose), a front-end (KeyLauncher, LaunchELF, etc.), and ExecFTPs (with a properly configured CONFIG.DAT file). This configuration will allow you to simply FTP into your memory card and add/delete/change the applications you have installed.

There are some PSX discs that just won't trigger the exploit. The best way to make sure that you have everything set up correctly is to ensure that the disc ID that is contained in your TITLE.DB file matches exactly to the disc ID in the disc's SYSTEM.CNF file.

so i should be able to burn title.db and boot.elf(ie-ps2menu) and ExecFTPs all on the same cd and it will install all those programs to the MC?

then when i get it to boot, ps2menu will start and then i can select ExecFTPs?

then from there i can load programs from my computer to ps2 via ExecFTPs?

Yep. Just dump any files that you want copied to your B*DATA-SYSTEM folder into the FILES folder of the exploit installer disc. The MC exploit install disc I use is a DVD that copies my TITLE.DB, KeyLauncher 0.5 beta 3, and ExecFTPs (with my CONFIG.DAT). I just FTP in after I run the disc and make changes from there.

As long as you have the files for each application configured correctly, yes. Check each application's individual thread for help concerning this.

Nah, a CD will work fine if you can boot it. I only shoved mine on a DVD because my Swap Magic CD royally sucks!

Um… no, that's not normal. During what part, or what application, does this "beeping" occur? Is it actual beeping, or just a sound the ODD (optical disc drive) is making?

the beep happened at random after it booted KeyLauncher and it sound like it was coming from hard drive area? i was trying to locate the beep, but it could have been the hard drive or the ps2 hardware since it's all the in the same area.

it was for sure a beep and not the disc drive. well i shut it down overnight and booted it back up and no beeps anymore, i even launched ExecFTPs and still nothing? very odd..

i was starting to worry that the exploit might have caused hardware damage to the ps2, but doesn't seem possible. anyway i was able to ftp in to the ps2 from my computer and was wondering how to get HD Advance on my MC, via ftp or do i install via cd?
