Help with MC exploit - PS3 NEWS

OK, I am trying to load hdavdanced onto my mc. My swap magic cd doesnt work with my PS2. So I downloaded cogswap dvd loader from these forums. When I take out my swap magic dvd and put the cogswap dvd in nothing happens. My questions are...

1) Is there a special way I am supposed to burn the cogswap dvd? Am I supposed to use the titleman program with the scus number with cogswap?

2) How do you know when the cogswap dvd is ready to be taken out and the cd is ready to be put in? Does a insert disc screen come up like it does for the swap magic disc?

Thanks for any help. I am sorry if these questions have been asked before. I did a search but for some reason I cant get anything beyond april. I tried setting it for "year" in the drop down menu at the bottom of the forums but it always comes back with only april.

The exploit cd you made is just that a cd. You will need a swap cd to load it. I am not sure if you can make a exploit DVD and then load it with swap dvd.....maybe someone could help on that one.

Another way you can load it is with a max drive. Yeah that thing that transfers game saves from PC to PS2. If you have that then you are good to go. Just transfer the exploit vis the usb pen drive. thats it. no making coasters or nothing.

If you're referring to the CogSwapLoader DVD from the Official DVD Loader thread, that DVD has nothing to do with installing the memory card exploit.

What you'll need to do is follow the instructions from the SwapMagicFix.com Memory Card Exploit Instructions. Instead of burning the installer files to a CD as outlined in step 3, you will need to use Sony CD/DVD-ROM Generator and place the files on a DVD. You can then boot the DVD with your Swap Magic DVD just fine.

It seems like you have this backwards, as I partially explained above. The CogSwapLoader doesn't boot the memory card exploit. The memory card exploit boots CogSwapLoader (or whatever else you have as BOOT.ELF or in KeyLauncher). When CogSwapLoader boots, it gives you an indicator of what disc is in the drive for a TOC refresh.

A black disc represents a PSX CD.
A blue disc represents a PS2 CD.
A yellow disc represents a PS2 DVD.

Use the eject button to put in an original PS2 CD or DVD that has a larger TOC than the backup you're trying to boot. When the indicator shows that disc as being ready, press X to perform the TOC refresh. The indicator will then change to a purple disc, at which point you can swap your backup disc into the drive and press X to play.

The board was basically "reformatted". No posts from before early April exist to search through.

I have a quick question about the MC exploit, I've got it working on my old V6 console, but a friend of mine wants to modify his new PStwo V12 console. Is buying a pressed dvd version of USB Extreme the only solution for booting games off of a USB hard drive without needing to swap discs? Of course, ignoring mod chip solutions as well.

Yes it is, and as you also know I'm sure the MC exploit doesn't work on v12 consoles either unfortunately.

Hi, I was wondering if you could show me how to load my Hd Advance onto my memory card using the exploit. I followed the directions on Swapmagicfix and burned the cd, but I don't know what I'm doing because the memory card thing isn't working. Thanks.

what i did was put execftp on my hdd with hdl_dumb and then just use the hdd program to boot execftp and then ftp'd into the memory card and installed the exploit. or like they said if you read above, was use the max pen drive.
my question is what flash drives work with ps2? i had a pny that gt4 wouldnt see.

Since sony cd/dvd generator is not freeware is there another way to make a dvd exploit disk to load backup dvd games from memory card?

Use the DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) compilation in Nero.
