Ripping Xenosaga Episode 1

Hi I'm new here and hopefully someone can help me. I have Xenosaga Episode 1 and I am trying to back it up on to a single DVD-5.

I've used most of the tutorials concerning that kind of method like using APACHE 3, CD/DVD Gen 1.5 with the DVD limit removal patch and IML2ISO but every time I do it the image that I get out isn't reduced; it comes out a 1:1 copy that although it does work is not what I am trying to accomplish. Besides ripping it to 3 separate disks (which would defeat the purpose) what does anyone here recommend?

Is there a pre-made dvd-5 version on p2p? Would be the easy solution..

There is a DVD-5 rip by Kalisto released awhile back. The only problem it's that it has a PAL/NTSC selector that only works with a gameshark swap (or swap magic?) which I don't have I either use ESR r9b or CogSwap which is based on Swap Magic to get any backups I make working. I could just use a DVD-DL to burn it using the toxic patcher but I was wondering if there was a way to just get it on one dvd-5?

With larger hard drives being cheaper these days, it's just easier to rip a full image with IMGBurn and install it to the hard drive if you have a fat ps2.

Yeah, I have a slim unfortunately. I might just end up backing it up onto 3 dvd's if that is the only solution, which sucks really. Xenosaga is a great game my copy has just taken a bit of abuse since I got it in 2003, but oh well. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get it on 1 dvd-5 or a Torrent or something of that sort it would be appreciated.

The next easiest solution is to spend a few bucks on a low quantity pack of dual layer DVD's. ESR patch the full ripped ISO and use FMCB/ESR to boot it up.
