Help burning a CD image made with CDVDgen

Well, I recently acquired an iso of The Rumble Fish (the new Sammy 2d/3d fighter). Unfortunately, its about 2 megabytes bigger than my swap magic 2.0. I also happened to notice that RARed, it shurnk itself down to about 350mb-- indicating either a dummy file or incorrect LBA.

So I opened up the iso into ISOBuster, and sure enough there was only 350mb of data. I extracted the files and planned to rebuild it as a CD using CDVDgen.

Everything worked fine, made an image (RUMBLEFISH.000) and all that...
Except what kind of format is it in??? I've looked EVERYWHERE for the past hour or two and couldn't find any information on burning just CD images made from CDVDgen-- only DVDs, which are .iso. Of course, I tried renaming it to .iso, but it didn't work.

I even tried using IML2DVD, because Sonix said it works with CDs as well- all that did was get me an empty iso file.

Does anyone know how to burn these files? Or at least an alternate way to compile one?
Thanks.

I usually use CDGen PS2 for compiling CDR-based stuff for my PS2. Just drag & drop the files in, and it will generate a BIN/CUE file which can be burned using Alcohol 120%, Nero, etc.

Thanks for the advice PS2nfo.com
It built the bin/cue successfully, but then when I put it in my PS2, SwapMagic gets a blue border and then the screen goes black and doesn't progress. Same issue when I tried to load using CDLoader.
Could this be a problem with something I did?

Did you just put the bin and cue file onto the disc together, and if you did it wouldn`t work that way as you have to use a burning software [Like Alcohol 120 or Nero as mentioned already] that burns a bin file or a software that will open a cue file and burn it,but make sure you leave the bin and cue file together in the same destination side by side on your computer`s hdd, because if you are going to use the cue file and once the burning software opens the cue file the cue file will automatically open the bin file and give you the size and get ready for burning.

Then burn as you normally would a image file and it should work in the end when it is done. But if you did it this way already then disregard this post.

I'm looking to shrink The Rumblefish too. My TOC refresh function of the Swap magic 3.6 doesn't make it boot! Has anyone sucessfully shrunk it and made it work?

try converting the cd to dvd. get scanlite, scan the files then load them into nero burning rom (UDF/ISO) (you will need the latest version of nero, the one thats has the UDF/ISO comliation option), and burn it onto dvd.

see if it works, i dont like booting cd's anyways, they spin to fast for me!

or you can use m2cdmgui16. With this tool you can build a CD/XA Bridge image using any file you want, it's how i got my pgen and snes station cd's to work.

Before when I just used Cddvdgen to build the iml/Bin/Cue,then nero to burn my bin/cue files I used to get an error "not Valid/Ps2 disc" or something like that, all you have to change is the form 2 extension to XA, and Ascii to iso Level 2 then drag and drop your files in (in the correct order)Then tell it where to put your bin/cue, and click create image and wait about two minutes (for it to finish building the Bin/cue) then burn that Bin/cue using nero it should work, Normally most CD/DVD burners will burn in mode 2 but mine doesn't unless I change the bin cue properties.

Hope this Helps.

ive used cd/dvd gen to make a cd game into dvd, works great. you need something like apache to extract the files then use cd/dvd gen to rebuild the game with the same file order and then rebuild and burn. if you are going to try cd/dvd gen let us know because there are tutorials around plus i have some to show you how to combine the .000,.001 etc. into a iso.
