What is new on SM 3.6?

Hey All, I've been looking to upgrade my SM disks but an wondering is there much for improvement on the SM 2.0. I was looking on the site to buy from and they said you get the SM3.6cd and SM2.0DVD. WTF.

I'll buy but only if There are upgreades to each disk. Please advise.

I got the SM 3.6 two days ago (PAL version) and I'm very disapppointed so far.
I need to use the refresh TOC trick time every time I want a backup game to run, otherwise the game does not start.
If I use SM 3.3 (PAL version, also) I have no problem at all. Either I have missed some very basic functionality or this version is a total mess ...

BTW: I haven't tried the USB/memory card boot option, yet.

i got the 3.6 also 3 days ago, it is a disappointment if you have had SM3.3, cuz the number of supported games in addition is quite few. I've had all the different versions in the past and the difference between 2.0 and 3.3 is quite big

That's a messed up deal, since the new Swap Magic 3.6 Plus set comes with both a 3.6 CD and a 3.6 DVD.

As far as I know, Swap Magic 3.6 Plus should perform very similar to Swap Magic 3.3. The only real new feature was the USB program loader.

This is the reason I threw away my SM discs. I had the 3.2 CD and 2.0 DVD the DVD was ok for most games, but then some games would not boot due to TOC and other issues. The SM 3.2 loaded next to nothing for me for CD games. Not a TOC issue, it was just a piece of crap. So I got a DMS4 EZI Pro solderless chip. Once you go chipped, you never want to go back.

I had a real problem booting sm cd v3.2 too. I could only get it to boot in like 1 in 10 tries. At a hunch i tried booting it using sm dvd v2.0 and it booted pretty much every time???
And it works with sm v3.3 too.

So if u are having problems booting any sm cd, boot it with the sm dvd:
1. boot sm dvd
2. press eject (tray opens)
3. insert sm cd
4. press eject (tray closes)
5. press x and it boots

well, judging from what I've read I think I'll just stick with 3.3 until the next version comes out, heh.

I have to take it back ... SM 3.6 (PAL) works great for me . I was just using the CD for DVD games (quite embarrasing I have to say).
I haven't tried the "from USB loading" feature, yet, but I'm quite confident ...

Well that's truly disappointing... I was hoping 3.6 would be like "God's gift to swappers." Oh well, better luck next time? I do really like the idea of this USB program booting though... The possibilities make me happy... LOL.

we need the toc size. And does it work with splinter cell pandora tomorrow?
