I dont know whats going on. Burned 2 backups at 2x but wont boot, i get a no playstation 2 disc message. Im using Swap Disk 3.3.

Area 51 plays fine and boot quickly. Burned at same speed.

Help please.

The original works fine. I made a copy OK. But dont know what was the issue at first, tried 2 more copies and the same problem so i tried with the rebuilding think, burned at 4x (2x before) with the same media and now plays fine. Very strange thing.

i am having the same problem what did you do to fix it.you say you burned at 4x and it worked fine.that is really weird because i have tried 1x 2x and 4x and nothing i get the game skipping all the way through it.so i am thinking i should clean my laser and try again kind of sucks though because i have tried numerous times.... making alot of coasters.

As with any game that skips, you need to look into the brand media, burn speed and the laser.

media - cheap media, is cheap, it sucks, and skips

burn speed - ppl will differ on this and i think its more the ps2's choice, but 2x and 4x are probably the most common.

Laser - first clean it, they do get dirty. If you are using quality media and burning at a "slow" speed and most of your dvd's are not reading correctly. Then you need to tweak the dvd pot OR raise the laser to see if those will help correct the problem.

the only thing i can think of is the media but veary skeptical at this point.becay=use i have littarly made 1000s of backups and no problem now this game and batman begins and ncaa 2006 all give me problems and it's not the ps2 cause i have a version 10 as well as a 12 so it's something i can't belive that nobody has had these problems... besides me, and i have been doing this for a long time.

well its known to work, so its 1. your version of the game 2. your media 3. something weird in the way its loaded 4. your ps2

what media brand and burn speed? maybe ur burner is starting to go? there are sometimes bad discs in a pack also dont forget that. so just try another burning a disc with idk a movie or diff game and see if it skips. also try a older game cd AND dvd to make sure the laser is working correctly.

as usual you guys are right again. sorry for ever doubting you gods of the ps2. just as you said it was the media, and I bought some new discs and the games work just fine. I am sorry for venting my frustrations in this forum and doubting you guys who are alot better at this than I am. I have been doing this for a while and thought I had everything figured out but I guess I didn't.

Thank you for your help and I am a doubter no more. and no I don't want a cookie. I wasn't trying to be a smart ass I was just trying let everyone know that I wasn't a newbi. I do appriciate all your help and bow at the awwwww of your ps2 expertice. I hope you accept this and continue to do the great work that all of you do helping people like me who think they know more than they do.
