cold fear help - PS3 NEWS

hello all well i got a copy of cold fear which i belevie is pal. when i loaded the game with sm 2.0 dvd the screen started to bounce up and down. i am thinking i need to use a cdloader for this but not to sure. anyone help me with which cdloader i need or do i even need a cdloader??? any help would be great.

Maybe your Tv can't handle PAL properly, you could try a pal2ntsc fix to see if that sorts it.

Cold fear isn't listed in swapmagic fix site so it shouldn't require a loader. I have the NTSC version and i don't need a loader for it. Sounds like a bad burn or bad media to me if the screen is jumpy. I would clean the origonal copy to remove scratches and redo iso and reburn on differnt media depending on what media you use...Good Luck

well i d/l cold fear which i think was the pal verison. is the pal2ntsc fix in the ps2 site utilities? b/c i could find it. i checked swapmagic website and couldn't find a cdloader that why i was thinking that there was a cdloader that works for games not listed on the swapmagic site but now i think there is.

No. It's in the PAL and NTSC selectors including Y-Fix! sticky thread.

The CDLoaders are on SwapMagicFix.com. As the PAL and NTSC selectors including Y-Fix! sticky thread states, any of the CDLoaders listed in the v7+ column (or its corresponding DVDLoader from the Official DVD Loader thread) will have a selector for NTSC or PAL video output.

If you need more information, do a search as there are several threads already on this board about converting between NTSC and PAL.

The problem I have with cold fear ntsc, is that as the game loads and it tells me I need to plug in controller. Everythings plugged in and I'm using an official ps2 controller. Cannot go past this screen.

I have the pal version of this game and just use the pal2ntsc with Y-fix as JCWohlschlag has mentioned and patch it,just make a iso image file of the game and use the patch program to patch the image file and then burn it and it should work,it worked well for me.Note set the offset Y-fix setting to 32 and this should work fine,the picture will be lower on your screen but there is a screen positioning feature in this game so that you can center it,good game by the way.G.L. :shades:

i am going to set the frmae to 32 b/c last time it was at 48 and whn i put the game in it hanged at the menu screen where you can select which fix you wanted to play with.

i got it work fine now i had to change the frame size from 32 to 28. 32 was a bit to big and it cutoff the bottom part of the game. on the frame size 32 i didn't click the pn selcetor box b/c i forgot but it still worked fine. thanks for the help
