Cogswaploader

Hello,

I downloaded the Cogswaploader from swapmagicfix.com and burn it on a cd.
But when i try to start it with the SW 3.0 Cd i get a red screen.

I do the same with the CD LOader and it works. (Downloaded from thesam Site)


What could it be??

I can't even get the CD to burn for me. Alcohol 120 gives an error.

Did you actually have to create the folder named "FILES" in the image below or was it created for you?

I can drag and drop as shown but the folder name "FILES" is nowhere to be found.

Im just guessing here, but cogswaploader and cdloader are both very small (1-2 MB) so when u swap the laser goes "EH! where is the data?".

So booting cogswaploader and cdloader can be quite hard actually, sometimes it only work 1 in 10 tries.

To make it work better u can rebuild cdloader/cogswaploader using cdgensps2. U just open cdgensps2 and drop in the files (cog/cdloader) and then a dummyfile (I usually chuck in a 200-300mb avi-file). Then press "make cd" and u get a cue/bin. Burn it (not with Nero 5) to cd-r and itll boot ever time.

Is it the same if I make a TOC refresh withthe SW 3.0
instead of using the Cogswaploader??

i have the same problem with dvd loader, it is 520 mb and it never loads when i swap it using swap magic cd version 3. do i need a dummy file for it also?

Yes, its the same (as the SM CD v3.0 disc). There is one or two games that need cogswaploader for some reason, but 99,99% of all other games work if u just do the Toc swap with SM CD v3.0, SM CD v3.3, SM v3.6, SM DVD v3.3 or SM DVD v3.6.

U can do the Toc refresh with cd/dvd-loader too (like if u need to run at fix too)

To run DVD-loader u must first boot Swapmagic DVD ... u cant run it with swapmagic CD v3.

If u only have Swapmagic CD v3 u must use CD-loader instead.
(CD-loader and DVD-loader is the same - just on different media)

So that's the fix . . . just add in a larger file and go from there. I wondered what was supposed to be in that folder.

unholydoragon since that is a dvdloader you are trying to load you have to use the swapmagic dvd to load it not the cd version of swapmagic, the loaders over at www.swapmagicfix.com when unzipped give you a bin and cue file,and you keep the files together in the same folder,but when you go to burn it with your software you have to open that folder so it just shows the bin and cue files and whatever else comes with these files,but you only have to burn the cue file which when it starts burning it will open the bin file automatically and then you will have a good copy.

The dvdloaders on this site are all iso files and once unpacked can be burnt directly to a dvd which works much nicer than the cd versions,these loaders can be put onto dvd-rw`s disc also,and i think these dvdloader iso image files can also be put onto cd directly too if memory serves me right,just choose cd in your software before burning that`s all.Hope this helps a little. :grin:

1. Get cdgensps2-software
2. insert CD-loader in your pc-cd-rom-drive (a window pops up with contents of cd-loader will show ... if not manually open one)
3. Run Cdgensps2-software (ull get a window)
4. Drag and drop all files from cd-loader window/folder into Cdgensps2-window
5. Drop in one or more dummy file(s) (or anythin' u got on your harddrive at 100MB to 400MB in size .... total size of image should be less than 600mb).
6. choose Files/create cd in cdgensps2 (ull get a cue/bin image)
7. Burn the image with your favorite burner-software (Not Nero 5) to cd-r.

Howto add a dummy to DVD-loader (or DVD-Cogswaploader ....):
1. Get Sony CD/DVD Generator v1.2 or later
2. Insert DVD-loader in your pc-dvd-rom-drive (popup window with contents of dvd-loader will show ... if not manually open one)
3. Run Sony cd/dvd generator
4. choose new project
5. choose "dvd-rom master"
6. drag and drop files from dvd-loader window to Sony cd/dvd generator-window
7. drop in one or more dummyfiles (make it 1,5GBto 3,5GB in size)
8. press "Volume"-tab
9. Type SLUS 12345 in all fields (or SLES 12345 if u are a PAL user) and choose correct country (USA or Europe) in "License area"
10. press "record" tab
11. ull get a "save as iml" ... just type something like "x" and press save
12. Ull most likely get a "recording unit not connected"-error and a "ini failde"error too - just press ok twice
13. choose file/export - ull get a save screen - use a name like "x" and press ok
14. Once the image has been build press ok
15. Then exit the software (press quit, choose files/exit and save if u wanna)
16. The software made your dvd in split files - named x.000, x.001, x.002 and so on ... depends on what size u made it. U need to combine them into one file (iso)... u can use any software (like mastersplitter) to do that or use the "copy /B" command in msdos/cmd
17. if u use msdos/cmd .... choose start/run...and type cmd (or enter msdos in some other way) ... then type:
copy /B x.000+x.001+x.002 main.iso
Press enter and itll combine the 3 files into a iso
18. Burn iso using your favorite burn-software (like dvddecrypter) to dvd+-r

This is the very basic way of creating a cd/dvd and it only works with homebrew stuff. If u wanna know more on how to cd/dvd look in dvd-rip forum or look in the tutorials (multigame) section
