Yeah before i got my HDTV i used my ps3 on my PC monitor via VGA, using a PS3 component cable (from ebay about £9) and a component to VGA switch box which cost about £40.
But if your going to do that, i see it as fairly pointless, you may as well just install linux on your pc ;-)
