Im not sure if the good ol' RFOM trick is still working with the newest games, as ive updated because i got bored of no online play.

HERE, although it looks like the thread is a little dead. Basically you just swap the resistance disc for another disc after the firmware check is passed.
On the other hand you could just update to the latest FW. Nothing has cropped up on the scene of late and COD4 multiplayer is something that
no one should miss out on
EDIT: just saw that one of the games you want to play is UT3. There is no way to bypass a multiplayer firmware check. SO if you dont want to just kick it with bots loner style, your going to have to update. Trust me its painless
