First post here.. heh

well i set up a DNS server by following evilsperm's instructions using the software he suggested. works great, got it to work fine on my first attempt

then i went another step further and setup abyss webserver, and created the necessary folder structure along with the ps3-updatelist.txt file. that seems to be working too.

i also added the folder structure for the actual firmware update files. along with v1.1 and whatver version of firmware that this url leads to:
Code:
http://dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net/update/ps3/image/us/2007_0202_afd01d9c72b3b69c03a0206c45d87dda/PS3UPDAT.PUP
(if anyone can tell me what version it is, that would be cool )

well i was wondering now that everything is setup locally, if it was possible to trip the ps3 into updating the firmware with an older version by changing the version number in the ps3-updatelist.txt file to something higher then what is actually on your ps3, and then having it point to a lower version firmware that you have locally. Anyone try that already, if not, think it is possible?
