I don't know what brand of hdd you have, but mine is maxtor. I just used the bracket that was attached to sony hdd (came with FFXI) and I had to cut out the top metal piece to make it fit my maxtor. The bracket with my maxtor fits perfectly back into the ps2 hdd slot so there's no movement at all. I hope this will help you out.
