the clicking sound is the lens (i think) I had that issue before and I regreased the drive rails and it went away. I'm guessing you used cheap media so the lens couldn't focus/find the data right, jumped around the disc looking for it ( clicking) and then finally your PStwo burnt it's lens because of the media. I've read that the lens burning out is a normal issue with the PStwo's when using cheap media. It jacks the power up too high because it's trying to read but can't.
For your sake I hope I'm wrong and your system isn't dead
