cracrus I think there is no way to play a umd movie iso backup yet with this. but you can use the old iso loader UMD Emulater 8c to load the umd movie iso. (I do not know if it works with new movies)
the last movie I tryed was Family Guy

Pastor Roache Yes the same dxar file is created in a 3.03 oe b and 1.5 psp.

so to answer your question yes you can BUT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS TO THE LETTER. ta-082 are sensitive so be careful. even if the pops emulator by chance doesnt work it would still beat firmware 1.5 since all other homebrew and isos work just fine.
Thanks for the reply Ryoko. There isn't anything different about installing 303 OE-C to a TA-082 is there?. It's already been downgraded so the hard part has been done. Now I just install OE-C as normal correct?

Unhappy Bricked my psp while trying to upgrade to this firmware.

What luck. Got my psp bricked. Even the recovery did not launched which I initially thought all is need is to run recovery to get back 1.5 firmware. Think I need a mod chip to flash back 1.5. Was formerly on 3.03 OE-B. Any expert here for any suggestions to help?

Much appreciated.

Sad PSP user.

Sorry to hear that mate.

Give more info, re your original PSP (ta-082??) what exactly happened?

If you power off completly (remove battery too) then re power on with R held - what happens? any lights? screen flicker? anything?

Can't help without more info (even then, might be a bit stumped! but would try to help ya!)

I don't understand why anyone would ever want to use the recovery to get back to 1.5 firmware..... dark alex's firmware do everything 1.5 does plus a buttload of sweet features. Follow the directions and you will not brick your psp

Also, earlier someone was wondering if this firmware does usb iso loading...well since you can always run older verisons of devhook you can use that to get usb loading, also there was a plugin that came out not too long ago that allowed you to use usb loading but i never got a chance to use it

True, but i fail to see how a comment like this helps someone who HAS 'BRICKED' their PSP! (Be it fully, or only partially bricked)

Yeah, but why would you want to load devhook once on this firmware. Loading it just for USB seems a bit overkill - so a nice plugin would be nice. (I remember seeing one for an earlier custom firmware, but havn't tried it - might give it a go now though myself, maybe it will still work on this version).

Short answer: NO, there isn't a USB plugin for this version of the custom firmware.

Long Answer:
Well i've had a look and there was indeed a version for an earlier custom firmware.
I have just tested it and it does not (currently) work on this version of the firmware - everything appears to be ok, but the USB games are not listed.

It connects using the correct version of the USB drivers in windows, but doesn't appear to be able to list the games in the PSP due to the fact that you need to update the "systemctrl.prx" file, which is on Flash0 - unfortunately this is integral to Dark_Alex's firmware. (You can replace it with the one supplied, but it screws everything up!)

Until the developer (TheBuzzer) of this can make an update version of either the plug-in (Preferable) or the "systemctrl.prx" it won't work. (an update to the ms side of the plugin would be best because it is likely to be compatible with future versions)

Anyway - i think that answers the original question.

CORRECTION!!!! - I have just managed to get this plugin working for usb gaming on 3.03 OE-C.
(I need to package this up with some detailed instructions, but will get it on line soon.)

FYI:-
This will REQUIRE you to update your FLASH0 MANUALLY, so should NOT be attempted by n00bs!

More coming soon...... (watch this space & the news)

PSPSwampy's guide to installing a USB plugin on 3.03 OE-C.

PSPSwampy's guide to installing a USB plugin on 3.03 OE-C.
WARNING:
As with any tools that FLASH your firmware - you MUST
1. know what you are doing
2. Have the AC power supply connected and have >50% battery life.

3. Be SURE you are prepared to risk bricking your PSP!

Requirements:
1 x PSP with custom firmware 3.03 OE-C
1 x USB cable
1 x Copy of USB Mod v4b For 3.03 OE-C For PSP

First off, I just want everyone to know that this is VERY HEAVILY based on "TheBuzzer's" release "USB Mod v4 For SEC For PSP" In fact - it is pretty much his release, but with a slight tweak (hence the name of the package!), we now need to use vshctrl.prx as well as systemctrl.prx!
I'm not stealing TheBuzzer's thunder - just updating on his work so it will work on the latest firmware.

Ok, so... on with the show...
This package will allow you to play games on Custom Firmware 3.03 OE-C in xmb from usb or ms (using Square to toggle)

Another WARNING for good measure:-
This involves MANUALLY updating your PSP's firmware - so it is VERY RISKY and should NOT be attempted by N00b's

INSTALLATION:-
(Please Note: This will overwrite any existing plug-ins)
1. Put the MS_ROOT files from the archive onto your PSP's root (X:\)
2. Go into 3.03 OE-C recovery (Hold R on cold bootup)
3. Choose Plugins ->
4. Enable usbhostfs.prx in both VSH and GAME
5. Enable buzzusbvsh.prx in VSH
6. Choose Back
7. Choose Advanced ->
8. Choose 'Toggle USB (flash0)'

*Warning - you MUST do this next bit correctly, or you are likely to BRICK your PSP*
9. On your PC, copy the file 'vshctrl.prx' from the 'Flash0\kn' folder and paste it onto your PSP's Flash0 in the folder 'X:\kn\'. (where X:\ is FLASH0 of your PSP)
10. On your PC, copy the file 'systemctrl.prx' from the 'Flash0\kn' folder and paste it onto your PSP's Flash0 in the folder 'X:\kn\'. (where X:\ is FLASH0 of your PSP)
****************************************
11.) Run usbhost (or usblink etc) on your PC
12.) Exit from PSP recovery
13.) On your PSP, now it has booted, you can hold square and it will switch between usb and memorystick. (To make 'memory stick' refresh itself, go to the save data section than go back to memory stick.)
