Sony Confirms PS4 / PlayStation 4 to Release on November 15, 2013
Following previous rumors and their Gamescom 2013 Press Conference, Sony has officially confirmed that the PS4 / PlayStation 4 release date will be on November 15, 2013 in North America (US and Canada), on November 29, 2013 in Europe and on February 22, 2014 in Japan.
Right from the start of the conference, aspects of the new console's menu system was on display, showing a modified Cross-Media Bar that seemed to focus more on games in related content than multiple static menus and the new controller based keyboard that uses a free-moving crosshair than the current setup.
Additionally, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House confirmed that gamers who have already bought the PS3 version of specific games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Watch Dogs will be able to purchase the PS4 version for a severely discounted price. Sony did this to "reward gamers for their loyalty" and to ensure the system is as "simple and accessible as possible."
The PlayStation 4 will launch in a total of 32 territories around the world by the end of the year with the PS4 console retailing for $399 / €399 / £349 just in time for the holiday season.

It boggles me as to why people rush to buy new consoles. You know a newer, slimmer, and most likely cheaper version will be out in a few more months... I'll kindly wait. The games and PSN will still be there.
