Video: New Operation Flashpoint: Red River PS3 Trailer Arrives

Codemasters Community Manager Benjamin Bateman has shared a new video trailer today spotlighting Operation Flashpoint: Red River for PS3.

    To quote: You've met http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcZBu0tgEbo and you've met http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thM3o41iDsI.

Today we introduce you to Sergeant William Kirby who's both squad leader and Rifleman in Fireteam Outlaw 2 Bravo.

He's seen it all and some more. The insurgents, they've got blood thirst, and the PLA ain't too friendly either. It'll be his leadership that will keep you alive.

As a little extra bonus for all you readers we raided the Red River studio and came away with this exclusive screenshot, just for you. This shows Outlaw 2 Bravo and another sunny old day in Tajikistan.

I really hope there is better support for this game than the last, Codemaster released an unfinished game and then followed it up with a crappy DLC and zero patch support.

You know, the VA who is doing the voice in this video sounds a lot like Cole from Infamous 1. Perhaps this is why Sucker Punch has a different VA for I2.

As for this game, based on this video I am not sure what to expect. Sounds like the game is established on today's world and events (he was talking about 9/11), so perhaps the game is going to be geared for more realism and simulation style gameplay/story.

I will keep my eye on this game, but amongst the dozens of other FPS games releasing this year, they are really going to have to stick out as something unique and special to grab peoples attention.

If you have never played Operation Flashpoint games don't expect the same old FPS. This is as real as a game gets; strategy, teamwork, etc. If you're major fan of COD you will most likely find this game too slow and boring. A mission can take up to 45 minutes to an hour. Strategy is key.

Just as in real life you don't just rush into a firefight and don't expect close quarter combat unless of course they added that in this new installment. Its an open environment for the most part, only a few spots in each level for ammo(at least in the older games). Slow and steady wins the race! It's a fun game but I hope Codemasters put more into this especially on the support side with patches and updates.

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising was released unfinished and had terrible support, the DLC was crap and released way too late, after most people lost interest. I am really hoping for much improvement on a possible great game.

lets hope... the AI of the squad-mates was really horrible.

this may be a game getting close to "America's Army" (PC)
