Welcome Ladies and Gents, to another edition of Casting Call. This week we take a look at one of the PS3's true gems, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Now with three Tomb Raider movies, two National Treasures, three Indiana Jones movies, the new one on the way and a bunch of movies starring Michael Douglas, who the hell needs another treasure hunting movie? We do dammit!
As if we could ever get enough of them. Uncharted follows the adventure of Nathan Drake, who is accompanied by his friend Victor "Sully" Sullivan and a journalist name Elena Fisher (in the hopes of filming the a blockbusting documentary).
When coordinates inscribed on a family ring lead Nathan to the coffin of his ancestor, Sir Francis Drake, the famous pirate, he finds a diary that points him to the fabled city of El Dorado. Action, explosions and adventure ensues.
So then, a great plot for a movie.
1. Nathan Drake - Nathan Fillion
Many fans of the series believe that Naughty Dog just don't want to admit that they modeled the game's hero after Nathan Fillion. Heck, they even share first names!
Nathan Fillion is one of those actors who you recognise but just can't remember where you've seen him. If you are one of those people, let me help you out a little. He has been involved in TV shows mostly, with a movie role here and there, a few of his roles have been in projects such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Desperate Housewives, Drive, Lost, Saving Private Ryan and the Firefly movie adaptation, Serenity. Not bad. He was also the voice of Sarge in Halo 3 and is currently filming his role in the Wonder Woman film.
2. Elena Fisher - Ellen Page
Hmmm, another case of similar names, purely coincidental this time round. Born in 1987, Ellen Page has been acting since the age of ten. You will recognise her for her role as Kitty Pride in the third X-Men movie as well as her Oscar and Golden Globe nominated performance for best actress in the movie Juno. We really hope that she doesn't let the nominations go to her head and agrees to take the role of Elena Fisher. Not only does she look the part, but she is able to deliver a great performance too, just ask Mr. Oscar.
3. Victor "Sully" Sullivan - Tommy Lee Jones
Now I know that you are thinking that Tommy Lee Jones is possibly looking a little ripe for this role, but it's amazing what they can do with make-up and CG these days. Now keeping in line with my rules of Casting Call, you might think that Tommy Lee Jones is a little too A-list for this role. Well let me tell you something, after he took the role as Two-Face in "Thatman Forever" (I refuse to refer to it as a real Batman movie), I'm pretty sure he can be talked into playing just about anything.
4. Gabriel Roman - Ed Harris
Now I had a bit of a tough time hunting down someone who could take on the role of the villainous treasure hunter, Gabriel. I ultimately came to the conclusion that I needed an actor who has grey hair, and can pull off the role of a really good "baddie".
If you have ever seen "The Rock" (the movie not the wrestler), you will know that Ed Harris is capable of doing exactly that, not to mention that his hair is grey, awesome. He is slightly past his due date as well which means that I'm sure that with a convincing argument, we could get him to take the role and bring even more experience to the line up of actors in the film.
Pics below in order as the numbers beside their name.
