Remember when Ubisoft http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3158542 to promote an unannounced Tom Clancy game that seemed to chronicle the start of World War III? Turns out Tom Clancy's EndWar was that game and will debut in the pages of Electronic Gaming Monthly soon enough. And we're not looking at just another realistic shooter, either, as EndWar is anything but -- it's actually a strategy game.
Ubisoft says their Ubisoft Shanghai studio, who last worked on the Xbox 360 version of http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3140443, is completely handling EndWar. "A strategy game like no other, EndWar will allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online in real global locations on the massive battlefields of World War III," said Serge Hascoet, chief creative officer at Ubisoft, in the press release.
We'll know more when those sneaky kids at EGM let us, but Ubisoft says EndWar will arrive sometime within the company's 2007/2008 fiscal year, which could mean before the end of the year or as late as next spring. When we know more, we'll pass it on.
