Update: Sony has finally confirmed at the GDC conference that their PS3 Motion Controller wand-shaped device is called PlayStation Move (official specs below, courtesy of http://playstationlifestyle.net/2010/03/10/playstation-move-official-specs/) and is slated for a Fall 2010 release.
Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, has stated that at Sony alone there are twenty games in development for the PlayStation Move platform.
Plans for a $100 PlayStation Eye and Move bundle package were announced, however, no word on the cost of the peripheral by itself.
Today JoyStiq (linked above) reports that Sony has http://www.thenetwerk.com/games/2010/03/10/sony-files-trademark-application-in-europe-for-playstation-move/ 'PlayStation Move' in Europe, which some are speculating may be another name for the PS3 Motion Controller recently dubbed Arc.
To quote: "Yesterday, Sony filed a European trademark, for use with a control device, for 'PlayStation Move.'
It sounds fitting for a motion controller! (It's application number 008936544 in the European trademark database, if you'd like to see it in its native habitat.)
In addition to that trademark, NeoGAF user gofreak found another trademark for the logo seen http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=20199539&postcount=962, which looks more like an A for Arc than an M for Move. We have yet to verify the image ourselves in the trademark database, however.
In any case, we're likely to find out more about whatever this thing is called during GDC."
