Sony: LittleBigPlanet User-Generated Content is Region Specific

LittleBigPlanet players will not be able to download levels created by players in other global territories, Sony confirmed to CVG.

During a presentation of the game at the Leipzig Games Convention today Sony's Pete Smith, who oversees operations at LBP developer Media Molecule, revealed that levels published on PSN by players will only be downloadable by people in the same region. The reason, he explained, is because each territory will have it's own dedicated server to which levels are uploaded.

"We've got regional servers," explained Smith. "But we can move levels around on servers whenever we want. But you won't have access to the Japanese servers," he added. More PlayStation 3 News...

This is soo typical, Sony always does this. Their product line says "play and chat with anyone in the world" blah blah blah. I love playing games with people all around the world. but with the little big planet coming its just one of the many downsides.

Is so unfair... maybe PS3 proxy will be helpful, if levels will have unique extension (.lbp or something) we can replace level files...
