At this point I wouldn't be suprised if, when Sony relaunch PSN, they move it a paid for model. People get away with all sorts using security as an excuse everyday.

i would like a full refund on every ps3 item i currently own.. my 5ps3 20games and all psn things i've purchased as well as accessories due to the fact i feel it is no longer safe to use,due to the fact sony appears to have breached privacy laws and doesnt seem to care about the customers also..

is there any way we can start some petition on this site for these actions?i really think its important issue..i hope somewhere this can be done..

i will be enquiring on sony telephone nos in the morning about this.. i think this should be an option sony should consider..i feel these breaches may happen again in the future.. my faith and trust in sony has gone 100% now.. i will swap to xbox or pc from now on..
the way things stand right this second playstation is dead to me.

I feel is necessary to add that on the 19th 5 transactions were made via my Visa

    £1
    £1
    £1
    £1
    £70.00

I didn't put two and two together until I saw someone on Engadget quote the same £70.00 transaction via their account too, same date as well.. Maybe a coincidence, but I don't think so =/

It sucks but don't single out Sony. I've got several emails and letters from various companies stating that they had a security breach or some douche had there laptop "stolen" (excuse for an idiot) and that my info may have fallen into the enemies hands. It's the world that we live in. It was probably Microsoft. The question should be, was it negligence. Security is designed by humans. If a human can make it they can break it.

"We exclude all liability for loss of data or unauthorised access to your data, Sony Online Network account or Sony Online Network wallet and for damage caused to your software or hardware as a result of using or accessing Sony Online Network,"
I don't think an obscure sweeping clause in a TOS can save Sony this time, even the Japanese government are on the case.

acelove, so you can confirm that credit card info was indeed stolen?

How did Sony breach the privacy policy? Having their servers hacked and giving the information away are entirely different.

Look up the data protection act, it's massively against protocol to store passwords and credit card/financial information without encryption or hashes.

Someone, from PSN leginaore comitee?! (he misspelled committee), on PlayStation Blog stated that "matlieulah" admitted to having do this

    The Psn leginaore comitee speaks

Sony management super goo man is right this guy matlieulah has made a video’s and also admits on his twitter that he has done this. he caims to have destroyed allinformation after he gave it to a hacker group on various sites

Mathieulh @72ambo I am not trying to dump it, I’ve done it already xD<< via twitter

We at the psn legionarrie commitee can confirm that his guy is member of psx hack site and nextgeneration site. Please go and arrest the owner of them and gather all information from every member there. These sites have written codes how to comprimise the ps3 sercurity and how exploit the cc sercurity of the console. Him and many others are looking to post such find over the nets in pvt sites. This is not a joke or made up story.

Please do your investigation and you will find that im telling you the truth. Also please contact twitter asap and gather all information on him. before he tries to hide and get away.

Not going to comment on whether his claim is true or not, but it seems that he and his "committee" are looking to blame everyone that involve in PS3 hacking or more general, console hacking.
