This is definitely not a hack. It's just an old-school Brute Force attempt using old User/Pass combo's.
The money and time Sony will have spent on beefing up their security will have involved
- Separating the ability to directly access someone's Credit/Debit Card info - so that should be safe.
- Front-end security to directly access Sony's Online Services - so Sony's server/DB should be safe.
- Obtaining lists of User/Pass combo's - so every user's information should not be plain txt and safe.
No need to talk about suing them - class action or otherwise.
No need to talk about "Sony got hacked again".
No need to panic
