Since the inception of Sony's PlayStation Store, weekly updates for both North America and Europe have been on Thursdays, but beginning in May Europeans will get them a day early as they are moving to Wednesdays.
A press release recently sent to PS3 and PSP developers said the date for updating the PlayStation Store is subject to change. From May 5th onward, the updates to the virtual platform will be made Wednesday.
Remember that the updates are Xbox Live on Wednesday, which may be one reason for the upcoming change.
To quote, in part, from the release: "Changes to SCEE Game Store Publish Day
On May 5th, 2010 the SCEE Game Store of PlayStation®Store publish day will move to Wednesdays for all content.
The final Thursday update published will be on April 29th, 2010."
