Sony Announces PSN Scheduled Maintenance July 26th to 27th

Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has officially announced that PlayStation Network will be down for scheduled maintenance later this week from July 26th to the 27th.

Below are the details, to quote: PlayStation Network is offline for scheduled maintenance from 16:00 on Thursday 26th July 2012 until 08:00 on Friday 27th July 2012, BST.

During the maintenance, you will be unable to access the following services:

• PlayStation Store on PS3, PSP and PS Vita.
• PlayStation Network Account Management.
• PlayStation Network Account Registration.

If you wish to play online during the maintenance, then you may be able to do so if you sign in to PSN before the start of the maintenance window. However, please note that all the services listed above will not be available, even if you are signed into the Network.

During this maintenance, you can continue to collect in-game trophies and these will be updated on your profile once PlayStation Network is back up and running.

Well at least you can stay signed it and play if you sign in before the maintenance. I always wonder why they never mention what "maintenance" they're doing but I guess it's not important. As long as you can play online.
