Rumor: Facebook & Gamercard Colors in PS3 Firmware Update?

Update: This rumor has been http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/facebook-confirmed-for-ps3 as true, with the tipster's screens originating from the PlayStation Web site itself (see HERE, HERE and HERE).

There has been a lot of buzz circulating around the next PS3 Firmware update, presumably version 3.10, which is what developers currently have.

Last month, Cross-Game Voice Chat was inadvertently confirmed to be included in it from a Naughty Dog developer.

Today, ScrawlFX.com (linked above) received some pictures from a tipster indicating that Facebook and Gamercard colors may also be included in the next PS3 Firmware update.

To quote: "Facebook integration, the ability to change your gamercard colors and more are coming to PlayStation 3, if these images from an anonymous tipster are to be believed.

The leaked images show the ability to manage your Facebook in your PlayStation Network account settings, changing the color of your PlayStation Network gamercard and a new, more sufficient way of looking through your photos."

Judging by the screen shots, the news ticker is not visible. Perhaps Sony finally heard the complaints of nearly everyone who owns a PS3 and brought back the ability to disable that useless nuisance.

ok it seems Sony is starting to get with the program. they are finally starting to see what people want and actually incorporate it into their systems.

first psp 6.10 sense me automatic music catigorization and now facebook on ps3 WOW!!!! i know tons of people with facebook acounts it just seems logical.

That's likely just the default language of the PS3 that SCRAWL's tipster had who passed along the screens...

I also updated the first post... apparently the screens originated from the PlayStation site itself.

Rumor has it the release date for PS3 Firmware update 3.10 is November 19, 2009.
