November 28, 2006 - In a recent http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=13319 interview with Sony's director of external development John Hight, it was revealed that classic arcade games would likely come to PlayStation 3. "Sony's third party publishers will undoubtedly provide updated versions of classic arcade games," Hight said.
Microsoft limits its Live Arcade remakes to 50MB, so they can fit on a memory card. PlayStation 3 will have must higher limitations. "We've arbitrarily set a limit of 500MB to keep download times reasonable," Hight said. "Since we've got plenty of HD space we can accommodate even bigger games and a lot of them."
No third-party publishers have announced plans for downloadable arcade titles on PS3.
