Just over a month ago we featured a PS3 [Register or Login to view links] Exclusive Prototype Pic in our Past News, and today the nice folks at [Register or Login to view links] let us know they have received, tested, and made a video of a prototype- which should hold over most who are eagerly awaiting it's release on May 20, 2007. Please NOTE: It's a bit difficult to see picture quality that is 1900x1080 in 700x500 video, however, the [Register or Login to view links] (also displayed below reduced in size) offers a glimpse of [Register or Login to view links] in action. For those who missed our Past News with the full feature list, it essentially decrypts HDCP-encrypted images for use on non-HDCP compliant TVs. Below is the video of both a PS3 and $ony SDM P234, along with the test results following- enjoy!

PCHC in mode 1080p48 (1920x1080 @ 48Hz for 120MHz pixel clockl). Player is PowerDVD Ultra v7.1 HD-DVD and HD-DVD movie is Basic instinct Europe. Everything is fine, software detects that display is HDCP and play the movie straight away, Picture quality is even better than with the Toshiba player (because of the pixel frequency lower in 1080p48)
