Well, if the E3 reader service mode (downgrade) works then it may be possible to JailBreak it as well... I am sure we'll know in the next few hours as people grab and experiment with v3.55 a little.
Update: More details, seems bad news after all:

The system continues to boot into Factory/Service mode, even with the modified 3.41 PUP and the first Lv2diag.self file loaded alone on a USB drive. Oh Lord, this is so not good, but i'll keep my jailbreak anyway, one of the things that makes me stay is the emulators, i'm waiting for the nullDC and Dolphin. I'll update only when the free method gets released.

They disable ssl so you can bypass the update, just this week
