    PS3 Firmware Update 3.42 is Now Available, Details Incoming

    Update: Several users who updated to PS3 Firmware 3.42 have now confirmed (along with Sony directly) that Sony has indeed added 'additional security features' and patched the PS3 exploit used for PS JailBreak, PSGroove and PSFreedom as expected so it is advised you do NOT update if you plan to use them.

    For those who just signed in to PlayStation Network, PS3 Firmware update 3.42 is now available to download.

    Download: PS3 Firmware 3.42 Update (US) / PS3 Firmware 3.42 Update (EU)

    While we can speculate on whether Sony blocked PS JailBreak with it, etc feel free to grab it below and report in the comments any changes you notice and we will update the news accordingly.

    Now I get to update one PS3 and leave the other offline forever.

    edit: And I was gonna deactivate all my accounts on my other one, but they didn't give me time

    edit2: DO NOT UPDATE YET!!! Use LG5Tool.exe (Logan5's Tool, theres a download link here on the forum), it works just fine, as I'm deactivating all my accounts right now, running 3.41, when current is 3.42.

    I was connected, I shutdown, the forgot to delete a movie so I turned it back on and it asked to update. I shouldn't have shutdown.

    Yep, I think now is the time. Either update or use jailbreak. I know what I'm doing. CYA PSN!

    uhhh didn't that stuff not work anymore... hence why i havn't been online with my 3.15 for ages.

    UPDATE after 3 mins... PSN Download Manager also works as a bypass tool.
