PS3 Firmware 2.01 Fully Supports Direct play of DIVX and Hi-Def

PS3 Firware 2.01 just came out in Europe and it now fully supports playback of divx and high definition matroska files DIRECT PLAY on the system.

Please check it out and let me know how it goes.

I can confirm jabberosx is correct. Also no xvid. Divx website videos don't play through browser either.

But divx website does seem to have an awful lot of PS3 game vids on there now. Is that a recent addition, are they building up for when PS3 uses their codecs?

yep.. they are expectation releases .. released in expectation of the forthcoming Divx support
