April 26, 2007 - Konami has confirmed that a firmware update for PlayStation 3 resolves backward compatibility problems with Pro Evolution Soccer 6 on PS2, which prevented the game being played online.

After upgrading the PS3's firmware to the most recent version - 1.70, which is already available to download - PS3 owners with a copy of the game can play both offline and online matches with "no known issues", according to Konami.

We guess that should tide you over until Konami finally has news on a PlayStation 3 version of the popular footie game, which is still to be confirmed.
