New Year's flOw

December 18, 2006 - One of Sony's heavily anticipated PlayStation Store titles will be unexpectedly ringing in the New Year. flOw, the casual Flash game that originated as a thesis project, became one of the most rumored titles for the PS3, with speculation that it would be included with the system as a hidden feature. The evolutionary title focuses on growing a small creature from a single celled organism to a complex being by devouring other life forms. Instead of coming out in December, as initially planned, the title will now be released in early January 2007.

While the original Flash project is still playable online, the PS3 version of the game is going to be substantially enhanced, with four additional creatures to control with their own unique environments to play as. The title will also feature SIXAXIS motion sensitivity control, sharper visuals, and improved audio with potential THX certification. Future updates are also supposed to include multiplayer or other modes, and ostensibly the game will continually be updated on a monthly basis. In effect, the downloadable title will evolve as much as its gameplay will. Whether or not the myriad of changes from the web based application to the PS3 version is the cause of the delay is unknown. Can't wait...I'll probably update from 1.11 to 1.31 just for that game.
Any word on when "cure @ playstation3" is happening? That cluster computing protein simulation model.

Does anyone know when this game is due to release? I was kind of hoping it would be out already...Something my kids would probably enjoy.

agreed, as "early January" is now nearly MID January..... this looks really cool!
