It was just last week that Sony's official PlayStation.Blog brought word that development on http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3143795 had wrapped, noting that production was in full swing and that the PlayStation 3 exclusive would grace North American retailers on August 14th.
Such is no longer the case. Associate Producer Ryan Hamlyn just posted another update on the blog, confirming that "an extra step in QA testing to enhance the community features" has forced SCEA to push back the Factor 5-developed release until September 4th.
"Natural challenges that arose while finalizing the offline game to include key online features - such as leaderboards and medal systems - have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date," said Hamlyn. "We appreciate everyone's excitement and patience for the game and look forward to its release on September 4."
The delay may put Lair into direct competition with Sony's own http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3140602, which, according to online retailer http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=270011, is currently slated to ship on the same date.
