Lightbulb I found a potential fix for the load screen freeze

Ok I have the original 20 GB launch PS3.

Staying signed in to PSN, I copied my saved game and profile data to a flash drive, and then deleted my save game from the HDD.

Then started a new game, went straight to multiplayer, and it worked.

Exited the game, copied the save data back from my flash drive to my HDD, loaded GTA and I'm now back on multiplayer.

Hope this helps some of you let me know if it does!!

At first I thought you were referring to THIS alternate fix, but your way you can remain signed in eh? Interesting...

    Thumbs Down

The only apparent disdvantage I can see to this would be that you can't have mulitple saves. So if you wanted to try something risky you couldn't save half way through without overwriting the 'original' and if things take a turn for the worst then your kippered to put it simply. I imagine other than that it works fine, that is provinding it works at all, but on the whole it just impractical.

I wouldn't call this a fix... No, Rockstar has to bring an Update. Otherwise we wasted our money.

This is a terrible idea. It's the complete opposite of what rockstar recommends when it comes to saving (they recommend turning auto-save off and only manually saving). The game only autosaves after missions. if you hunted down all 200 pigeons in a row, it wouldn't autosave, and you'd have to do it again.

It's a better idea to unlink your PSN ID to the Rockstar Social Club. You could end up doing that process every single time you turn off your ps3 and want to play again.
