June 22, 2007 - When Gamecock first crowed about its existence back in February it announced several games in development that didn't have an official home, yet. One of those titles, Hail to the Chimp, now has two systems to call its own: the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game should be emerging from the jungle next spring.

Developed by Chicago's Wideload (Stubbs the Zombie), Chimp is a party game that takes place in the animal kingdom. The title is aiming to go where other party game's don't, however -- it's also apparently a political satire.

"No one has attempted to bring an over-the-top party game like Hail to the Chimp to next-gen consoles, much less one with biting political satire," said Rick Stults, Console Chief for Gamecock Media Group. "Keeping with its reputation, Wideload is going to give gamers something truly original."

We call dibs on Toshiro, the kung-fu octopus.

Following a series of embarrassing scandals, the king of the jungle (a lion, appropriately enough) has been deposed and his fellow animals are vying for control. The game will feature ten playable animals, and players will have to form and break alliances in order to gain the upper hand.
