Guinness World Records Recognizes PlayStation Accomplishments

Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has announced today that Guinness World Records has recognized PlayStation accomplishments!

For those unaware, Guinness Breweries started the http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/ to settle pub arguments over the biggest, fastest, and best milestones in the world.

To quote: Guinness World Records now not only publishes the book that you probably own, but also annually produces the http://gamers.guinnessworldrecords.com/; a records book devoted games and gaming-related achievements (high scores, etc).

That brings us to E3 2010, where the Guinness folks dropped by our booth to recognize a trio of PlayStation milestones.

Scott Rohde, Vice President of http://www.worldwidestudios.net/en/Homepage, North America, accepted records for LittleBigPlanet with the Most User-generated Levels (2,463,073), UNCHARTED 2 as the Best Selling PS3 platform game and MAG for the Most Players in a Console FPS with 256.

Although we're the recipients of the plaques, none of these records could've been set without you, the PlayStation gamer. It's you who made the levels in LBP, you who bought UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves by the million, and you who make those MAG battles the biggest on a console.

So congratulations! And if a disagreement over PlayStation should ever come up in a pub one evening, remember: you're now equipped to settle it decisively.

This is good to see and well deserved as i remember just over a year ago that a lot of people were annoyed with the ps3 in one way or another and i said to some of them give it a year or so that they can unleash what the ps3 can do and i see by this article.. nice by the way PS3News that the ps3 has come through like i figured it would.

Only better things to come for the ps3 in the near future also as it can only get better to how much i do not know, but this is a victory for the ps3 forsure.

Everyone seems to be confused on the UC2 award. When nothing has come close to MGS4. Unless it really means Sony own Dev companies which ND is?
