During in http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/take-twos-ben-feder-interview?page=2 with Eurogamer, Take-Two's Ben Feder discussed some minor details about Rockstar's upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive: Agent.
During Sony's press conference the only announcement made was that the game was, indeed, going to be made with the Sony system in mind, but it was mysteriously without images or the slightest of details.
To quote: Ben said that the series is its own franchise entirely, which is something that led to the decision to make it a platform exclusive. They wanted to make sure it got users' attention - a promise that an exclusive title certainly carries. When asked about the initial comparisons to Grand Theft Auto, his answer was a bit more cryptic.
"It's a completely different storyline, there is completely different character development. It's a game about espionage, set in the 1970s. GTA is obviously more about an urban experience, a typically rags to riches experience. Very, very different storylines, very different character development. It's going to be very fresh for gamers."
It sounds like he's dodging the question a bit, and saying that the game has a different story than Grand Theft Auto isn't in any way saying that the game will play differently.
It wouldn't come as a surprise to me at all that Rockstar is a bit sick of bowing to Microsoft's system's inadequacies and is anxious to see what they can do when they push the cell processor to its limits.
Seeing as they're all wearing money-hats purchased by Microsoft's GTA DLC money, starting a new franchise might be the only way.
