What's the game about: Spooky crap scaring you amidst frantic firefights, just like the original F.E.A.R. Makes sense because this is a compilation of two PC expansion packs (Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate) on one Xbox 360 disc. So if you haven't played the original F.E.A.R., you will have no clue what is going on. And since this pack does not include the original game, you're either going to have a good memory of what went down or you're going to have to ignore the plot and concentrate on one thing that isn't confusing: shooting soldiers in slow-mo.

What's new for E3: This is the first time the F.E.A.R. Files has been shown. Even so, it doesn't look all that different from the original game. But we did learn that game will include 6 new weapons (3 from each expansion pack) and will also include a couple new multiplayer modes. 360 owners can also expect to see more instant-action levels. Y'know, for people who want to blow crap up without the fear of pissing their pants.

What we like: The super smart enemies are still, well, super smart. Even better, you fight a new group of enemies called Nightcrawlers (who look like they stole the glowy-eyed Helghast outfits out of the Killzone closet).

What we dislike: Even though the enemies are fun to fight, the environments are still boring. Like boring hallways? Well, you better, because you get a whole lot of 'em. Or at least that was the case in the 10 minute demo we watched. Another thing: The graphics are really starting to age, especially after seeing fancy fare like Unreal Tournament 3 and Killzone 2.
