Enlightenment to Gnome

The tutorial for installing snes and mplayer said that you need to switch to gnome to install the stuff, im on ydltext because of 1080i and there is no session part to change it. Its just the place where u type in root and your password. So i was wondering how im supppose to change it to gnome can someone please help out. Thanks.
