July 13, 2007 - Konami took the opportunity at its E3 2007 press conference to announce http://ps3.ign.com/objects/777/777941.html, the latest in its creep-out survival horror series. We were lucky enough to be in attendance, and have some brief impressions of the game's even briefer trailer.
As a wall of smoke or fog fades in, a male voice cuts through the haze. Konami's press release, submitted at the same time as its conference, tells us the voice belongs to Alex Shepherd, a war veteran returning home from overseas. He tells of his troubles relating to his friends and family now -- they haven't seen what he's seen.
"They say you can't go home again," Shepherd says. "But they're wrong. I just don't want to."
Pretty sure we've scene this before...
A pagan image burns through the gloom, a crop circle-like pattern with three pentagrams. It's very similar to imagery we've seen in Silent Hill Origins. When the young girl Alessa is sacrificed she is surrounded by markings on the ground that look a lot like this symbol. It is likely related to the Order, the group behind Alessa's sacrifice.
And that's it! Not much to go on just enough to let us know there is a Silent Hill 5 in development. More details can be found in the game's http://ps3.ign.com/articles/803/803855p1.html.
