What I heard was that it supports 1080p BUT not for Blu-ray playback because of the some security specific to the television that verifies it isn't recording the device...

I could very well be mistaken with all stupid little rumors some pass as truth...(LOL I heard someone today (at work) say PS3 can't play PS2 games (He meant any, and at all) LOL)
