If someone can help me out with this, that would be great. I am trying to rip/decrypt 2 Japanese bluray discs I have: Innocence and Brave Story. So far, I used SAK 1.00 to dump the image (both via external HDD and network). I then tried using backupbluray and everything seemed to work, but the m2ts files don't work at all. I'm basically using hacked2123's method but substituting SAK for linux. I've tried many little variations as well with no success.

I tried the same thing with my Superman Returns BD and it worked right away with no problems at all. I can play the resulting m2ts file with vlc, pdvd, and mpc.

I searched cpskey.cfg and innocence on google to see if anyone had tried the same movie, and it was posted on a Japanese site. They had used hacked2123's method as well. I even tried changing my region setting to Japanese so the programs act all Japanese on my WinXP. Still the result was the same.

I checked the superman m2ts file and innocence m2ts file with a hex editor. The superman one starts with organized "F" letters and contains legible things like "HDMV." The innocence one however is still completely jumbled after the backupbluray.

The only difference I can see between what I did and that Japanese site is they used linux instead of SAK... but I would think this has no effect on the dump... could it? Do I have to install a Japanese firmware? LOL! Sorry about the long post, but if someone could give me some tips, I'd be very grateful. I've tried everything but the Linux and Japanese firmware.

Well after downloading each file individually I now have my disc set up. Yes I know I can use the Network Share thing but I have yet to figure out why it will not work. However I believe I might have found a bug in SAK or BRDGen.

I downloaded the 00000.m2ts of Pearl Harbor and it shows that it is 39.3 GB in Windows however BRDGen sees it as 3.32 GB. This is the only file I have found that has a different size. Also I made an ISO of the whole disk using UltraISO and when AnyDVD reads it, it shows that the mounted ISO is 9 GB but in Windows it shows up as 44.3 GB. Hope this helps.

Well, it would seem that BRDGen might not yet be ready to handle Blu-Ray movies (yet).

Furthermore, you have a bluray drive in your pc? If not, how are you making the ISO? Also, what movie is it, If I have it (only a few tho!) I can check.

As odd as it is, I think that windows MIGHT be right this time, and that when UltraISO made the ISO, it might not have proper support for the filesystem, causing the issues.

Please let me know, Thanks!

The issue is blu-ray disks have a hybrid ISO-UDF filesystem (for games) and a UDF filesystem for movies = why you cant extract!
Does BRGen work for others ? I backup to an external disk (ext3) and when I ran BRGen on it, it said it was a invalid ISO. I posted on the BRGen forum but no response yet.

BTW - nice tool. One bit of feedback. I had to boot PAK with my ext USB harddrive attached. If I plugged it in after boot up PAK didn't see it.

The movie is Pearl Harbor. Also I do not have a blu-ray drive for my PC otherwise I would have ripped the BD with AnyDVD. Like I said I grabbed each file individually and made an ISO of all the files with UltraISO and then mounted the ISO.

Ahh, hate to say it, but I've got a feeling, somewhere along the way (as in mostlikely UltraISO) it managed to break.

Can you umm, create a blu-ray disk in NERO, and use the image recorder, to save it that way?
