No, i wont want a downgrader. i will buy my games and support sony, since we are losing exclusives left and right, i think we all need to buy games....i dont know..love resistance online too.....but i support the scene too...i just dont really have anything to add to it...

And by saying "Homebrew", you do mean user created games using the other OS?, which is allowed on every firmware.....or do you just mean an iso loader? just curious...

The PLAYSTATION®3 System Software version 1.60 update includes the following: Featured Content * Folding@home connectivity, background downloading of content from the PLAYSTATION®Store, support for Bluetooth® keyboards and mice, and an optional full QWERTY on-screen keyboard for text entry. Folding@home * The Folding@home project allows PS3 owners to connect to Stanford University’s Folding@home program, a distributed computing project aimed at understanding protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and many cancers. Using the power of the Cell Broadband Engine™, PS3 system can perform computer simulations for the Folding@home program ten times faster than your average home PC. Once PS3 system is updated to version 1.60, users can easily sign up to join the Folding@home program by clicking on the appropriate logo on the XMB™ (XrossMediaBar) under the Network icon. Then, when the PS3 system is left on and reaches idle mode, it will automatically begin a simulation and, once completed, send information back to a central computer. Additional details about Folding@home are available at http://www.scei.co.jp/folding/en/. Enhanced Downloading * Firmware Version 1.60 also delivers a more convenient process for downloading content to the PS3 from the PLAYSTATION Store. being in Japan must be nice! it takes us "yanks" about 15 mins to download a 50mb piece of software from Sony on the PS3 - i thought all that went away as they upgraded / got more servers, but after downloading the Folding@home business with the FW 1.60, it took at least 10 mins to download [wirelessly]....

consider yourself lucky if you can download stuff on the PS3 quickly, i know you said you have a 1,000Mbps connection right? when i plugged the PS3 into the home network of 100Mbps, it didn't download any quicker than on wireless, so i assumed it was still a issue server- (read: Sony-) side

It doesnt matter if you are connected to an 11Mbps Wireless connection or a 54Mbps wireless connection or even a 100Mbps LAN connection. If your Broadband connection is for example 2Mbps then that is all you will get!

The 11/54/100 figure is only how fast that 2Mbps broadband connection passes data from your router to your PS3/PC once it downloaded from the internet.
