PlayStation 3 Price Will Drop Soon, Predicts Microsoft Exec

Microsoft exec Aaron Greenberg has predicted that Sony will cut the price of PlayStation 3 very soon.

"We absolutely expect the PS3 price drop to happen in the next couple of months," he told http://www.edge-online.com/news/ms-360-life-date-sales-hit-28m.

"We're frankly surprised it's taken this long... I would expect they'd have to move on price, sooner than later, for sure."

Right now the 120GB Xbox Elite carries an RRP of GBP 229.99, while the 80GB PS3 is GBP 299.99.

At last year's Leipzig Games Convention, SCEE boss David Reeves told us there would be no price cut "this year" - and as it turned out, he wasn't making it up.

Look around, there's plenty of uk retailers selling ps3's at £279 with 3 decent games, including motorstorm:PR and LBP.
While the arcade is entry level, but needs another wad of cash just to get it to a decent spec, and then it turn out to be more expensive than a new ps3.
